QR Codes and funerals in Colac and district

December 16, 2020

The Victorian State Government has requested Victorian funeral directors keep a log of people attending funerals.

The government would prefer  funeral directors use a QR Code system for record keeping, and the following information explains QR codes and their benefits when attending Quinn Funerals’ services in Colac and district.

A QR Code, or Quick Response code, is merely a link to a simple form that, in the case of Quinn Funerals, asks funeral guests to use their mobile phone to answer two simple questions: What is your name and your phone number. That’s it – name and phone number.

Using a QR code to record mourners’ details on arrival at a funeral service allows the venue or church to let people into the building at a rate of 1 person every 2 square metres.  If we don’t use the QR code system, the ratio moves back to 1 person every 4 square metres.

If you can, bring a mobile phone to Quinn Funerals’ service and scan yourself into the venue using the QR code provided.  If you can’t bring a phone or don’t have one, Quinn Funerals has trained staff and devices to help you register your details.
