Leave a tributeIt was a beautiful service for Val. We all have such strong memories - both happy and sad. The funeral did justice to Aunty Val as mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and active members of the community. All who spoke at the service did so with one powerful and eloquent voice.

Dearest David, Chris, Josh, Sam, Emma and families. So sorry we couldn't be there to today to farewell your beautiful Mum, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, but please know we were with you in spirit. What a beautiful sendoff you gave her, she would have been tickled pink, and yes David, she would have been wondering what all the fuss was about. My memories of Val are as a very strong women who called a spade a spade, an extremely hard worker and someone who put her family first always. May she be at peace now and reunited with Stan and Robert and her God. You can hold your head high and be proud to say "Val was my Mother/Grandmother".
We are sending you all big hugs.

On behalf of all the Herberts, Bronwyn, Anne, Megan, Mary, Kate and Roger we would like to pass on our condolences at the passing of Val Bentley. She lived a full life and is now sitting with Stan and Robert. We have such fond memories of the many visits to the Bentley family farm during the school holidays as the two families enjoyed time together culminating in holidays at Port Campbell. Our mother Gwen and Val loved these events as both families played happily together. Also Val's legendary cooking pervaded the Herbert household as we all regularly devoured Val's famous Meatloaf' which was an interesting mix of special 'herbs and spices' plus a few unknown ingredients. Val also insisted that all Herbert siblings had a Bentley cow named after them making us feel particularly special.
In fond memories of Val Bentley who loved life and family. God bless.
