Died peacefully at Anam Cara House on December 5, 2025 aged 98 years.

Daughter of Katherine and Andrew Guthrie (both dec). Sister of James (dec) and Patricia. Beloved wife of Raymond Joseph Batson (dec) and Thomas Vincent Walsh (dec). Dearly loved mother of Maree, Anne, Gabrielle, Peter, Lynne and Karen. Loved and respected mother-in-law and friend of Jim Ryan, Gai Batson, Mark Smith and Gaye Laing. Loved grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Katheen Mary Batson will be offered at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Gellibrand Street, Colac on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 commencing at 2pm.
The Funeral will leave the Church at the conclusion of Mass for the Colac Cemetery.

  4. Kathleen. We only ever met once for a Christmas family celebration in Melbourne …but your presence and grace were undeniable, and your warmth and good humour and love of fine chocolate will forever remain with us as beautiful memories.

Maree - you were such a wonderful person to share a home with (Clifton Hill) I always just assumed your mother must have been a kind & gentle person - as were you.     What can we say but how sorry we are for your loss. We have loved caring for Kath over the years. She will be missed and I will miss our cuppa and bicy chats,
