  4. Dear Laura, I remember the days when we worked together at Bonlac, and then you left there and became a school teacher, a career you were born to do. I’m so glad we kept in touch over the years. I was devastated when I heard you had MND. But you put up a good fight, a brave fight and through it all you kept on smiling that beautiful smile of yours. I’m sorry to hear you have left us but there is no more suffering. My deepest condolences to Laura, Ian, Les and families. Fly high you beautiful angel.

  13. From all of us at Carlisle River Primary School – an acrostic poem written by a student:
Music, you gave us our school song.
    Rhythm, you taught us tinikling.
    Super fantastic, like a superhero.
    Beautiful in your own way.
One of a kind teacher and person.
Coffee don’t talk to her unless she has had it!.
Kind, always brought out the best in us.
Entertaining, you could always make us laugh.
Respectful, you always respected us and taught us to respect ourselves. MRS. BOCKER We will truly miss you. RIP

  15. To Les, Ian,Laura, Grace, Nate and Rick, Dave and the whole extended family I express my heartfelt sympathies. What an incredible woman with amazing strength who fought this insidious disease with all of her being. To sit with Laura, Rick and Laura at Trish Terry’s funeral in July last year I was inspired by Laura’s courage of wanting to attend even though she had been reassured by her family that it would be understood by all if she didn’t. But Laura sat with Rick and Laura either side of her as she farewelled Trish who also had MND with such incredible strength and it’s a moment I will never forget..

  19. I met Laura 25 yrs ago at Bonlac. A striking woman cruised in on a big black motorbike and sauntered down the steps with her ‘swagger’ walk. I was immediately in awe of her. She was strong, kind, funny and a beautiful smile. Always willing to help and advise others. You encouraged me to follow my own ambition to ride. Forever grateful that we crossed paths. Fly high to the moon and stars Laura…
