Our own special sheep wrangler, Prof, our go-to-guy with anything to do with our 'inherited lads', even when it meant catching and holding one down to get its horns sawn off, there were scars to prove it!
Loved our chats over the fence at Johanna, about nothing in particular, and across the bar at the Roadhouse having a cider and an evening meal. Waving as we passed each other on the GOR, especially on your motorbike with beard flowing.
A real honour to know you and glad our paths crossed.
So very sad for the Brauer family, a huge loss, and also for the community, a very special bonza bloke!August 27, 2025 2:31 pm
Prof worked at Wangerrip for 20 years
He became part of the family and a great mate. We worked hard, enjoyed our drinks and pizzas at the roadhouse or a drink on the veranda, played basket ball together. He could fix anything with hayband or number 8 "to keep the show on the road"
One of life's nice guys a gentleman in the true sense of the word.
I am glad out paths crossedAugust 27, 2025 9:14 am

Condolences to all our cousins. Rest in peace ProfAugust 23, 2025 3:22 pm
I loved working with Prof. on the potato farm. His quiet humour and gentle kindness made the days better, and I always looked forward to his company. On the badminton court, he was unbeatable — great to have on your side, but tough to play against! A true Otway legend who will be sadly missed.

Cowboy Les as my son Henry referred to Prof. Les worked part time for us on the farm in Johanna he was a great character, hard worker and very generous often bringing some veggies or plants from the garden or lending me some of his vast array of equipment. Les taught me allot about farming in the Otways and become part of our family always dropping in over the weekend for a yarn. We will miss you.

Prof; a man who showed the world how easy it was to be kind and gentle (just like his Dad) and who could play a great game of badminton… the Otways has lost another legend. Thanks for all the childhood knitting lessons, and thanks for only ever encouraging me to work harder at it.. even when you probably should have been laughing at my terrible scarf work! Forever grateful for your quiet grace. Sending my heartfelt condolences to the Brauer family; rest well Prof.

My everyday life growing up at Johanna , revolved around Prof being part of it as worked on the family farm . He became one of the family . Many funny stories & memories. One being the time he forgot to put hand brake on Ute, went inside & came out to no Ute. Only to discover the Ute has rolled down the driveway & was in the river.
