It’s sad that we need to say goodbye to another member of our Breathe Easy Group. Liz has been a member for around 12 month’s, we have grown very fond of her. We have watched Liz come out of her shell over that time. We will miss seeing Liz at our gym session’s, around the table and our lunches. RIP Liz

  9. While we did not really know Lizzie well and only through her Soul mate Tich. In more recent times a short decade or so. What we did see and know of her in her final years we loved and enjoyed her sharp wit and underlying sense of humour always present even if with a sharp or dark edge No fool was Lizzie. I guess we best know through her long time companion in Life Tich our dear friend and neighbour on Evans track For I am sure much of what we now know and love about Tich are the result of Lizzie being in his life.
It may have take a while but he is the better human and funny as well for knowing Lizzie. Vale Dear Lizzie. Our love and hearts go to those you have left behind. May they have your courage and kind determination and humour in the months and years ahead as they slowly let you go but never forget.

  12. Condolences to Ian and family from CEVC. Liz joined Colac Evening VIEW Club in September 2011, enjoying the meetings and companionship. Over the last few years, due to a prolonged illness, Liz was unable to get to meetings regularly. However her generous donation, as the main raffle prize, of weekend stays at the family holiday home greatly assisted our fundraising for children’s education for several years running.

We are saddened by the loss of a friend who helped us to address the poverty cycle through educational support. Vale Liz

  23. Dearest Aunty Liz,
Memories of you come flooding back. The house in Horden Vale, where Maurie the cat and Pokey the dog faught until they found peace with on another curled up by the fire. Bluebirds knocking on the window.
Holding my hand and jumping the waves on the seashore when it was too rough for me to go swimming. You were my first teacher -grade prep when you were still Miss Cooke.
Your knack for choosing special stuffed toys, I still have brown ted, Zach never let go of rainbow ted and now Millie with rainbow unicorn.
Your love of literature and good books.
Your wonderful speech at Dads 70th when words escaped me.
And later your wise words, support and advice.
Sitting with you in the backyard in the soft summer sun while we watched the children play.
Your passing leaves a space that can never be filled.
Be at peace now with love Autumn

  24. Sorry for your loss titch , em, Tom.
Liz was always very welcoming to me in her home during long runs of great surf conditions at Johanna when I didn’t want to go home after a day of pumping waves with titchy.
Liz didn’t really know me but opened her home to me without question and I feel this was testament to the sort of person she was.
She raised lovely kids who have become great adults and parents.
Love from Ritchie Amy Skye Kai And Ari.

  26. Dear Uncle Ian and family

I’m really sorry I was not able to travel to farewell Aunty Liz and to see you and the rest of the Cooke family. I have the fondest memories from my childhood and teenage years of catching up with Liz every Christmas – and our discovery of mutual connections in Geelong.

    May you rest in peace.
