The Funeral of Mr Russell Dare will be held at St. Mary's Church, Gellibrand Street, Colac on Wednesday May 3, 2023 commencing at 11.00 a.m.
The funeral will leave the Church at the conclusion of the service for the Colac Lawn Cemetery

Heather, Michelle, Colleen and Janine, saddened to learn of Russell's passing, having known you since 1992 when Sarah & Michael came to you for family day care and after that as an integral part of the Colac Rock'n'Roll club. Russell was always smiling and welcoming to all who knew him at RnR. He also came with us every week when we held dance classes in Winchelsea and made everyone feel welcome, helping numerous beginners over many years. He will be missed by so many.

Russell l hadn't seen you for many years, we had our first camping trip together out at Meridith Park in about 1966 and somebody stole all our food, we built a double story cubby house behind your father garage and the raft we built was amazing, based on a huge extremely heavy barn door and based on 3 rows of 5 gallon oil drums for floatation, we played a bit of footy together and in general had a all round great time living in the country. Most saddened to hear of Russell's death,no doubt he is in a happier place I feel.Russell was a good and always cheery man thruout all my years in the colac fire brigade,a very involved and dedicated volunteer fireman and Officer of the brigade over many years, and was brigade Foreman during my term as Captain in 1985-87. Russell was a very good competitor on the wet track and indoors Marshall's. Both he and wife Heather , as an Auxialiary member,gave great service to Colac,s community via the brigade. His long employment at Halloran motors,workshop, Racv mechanic, and sales,gave him great respect in the community. Our sympathy to Heather and family. Vale Russell Dare.

Saddened to hear of Russell's passing. Condolences to Heather and family. Cherished memories of our time at Colac Primary and Tech schools, Presbyterian Boys Club, camping at Glenaire, the bondwood caravan at Lorne, car top rafting on Barongarook Creek, fishing from a leaky boat on Lake Colac, babysitting nieces, Cats V Demons at Kardinia Park and hanging out at Colac Bowl. Forever grateful to Russell for introducing me to Colac Youth Club and Fire Brigade and selling me the best car I have owned. Rest in peace Russell.
