7. My dear Uncle Barry used to drive us to the Apollo Bay school from Wild Dog Road. On a hot day he use to buy us icy pole each when they were 5 cents.
   Angus cattle, hay, dairy awards on your gate. I will treasure my wonderful memories of you Uncle Barry.

    Barry always treated me with love when I spent many days at your wonderful home He had a infectious smile and laugh that I can never forget. A truly gentle sweet man that always had time for me even though I have been out of the picture for decades

23. In many ways, Barry was a father figure to me in my late teens and, in some ways, better than my own. I remember with much warmth the smell of his pipe smoke emanating from the lounge room of the Bottomly’ farm.
    I was lucky and fortunate enough, after around thirty years, to have caught him for a brief chat a couple of years ago; albeit at a funeral.
    My sincere condolences to you, Jan, and the rest of your extended family.
