Our hearts are heavy as we share the news of Barbara’s passing on 28th July 2026 at the age of 75, after fighting a long term illness.
Barbara passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Barbara is the dearly loved wife of Ronnie. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Andrea and Luke, Jackie and Greg. Cherished Nanna of Milla, Emma, Alban and Frances.
Daughter of Stanley and Ivy Kerr (both dec). Loving sister of Graham, Peter and Dianne.
Barbara brought joy and kindness to everyone who knew her. She will be sadly missed but will live on forever in our hearts.
Funeral notice
A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Barbara Joy Dillon will be held at the Colac Lake Bowling Club, Moore Street, Colac on Thursday, August 6, 2026 commencing at 1.30 pm.
In accordance with family wishes, a prior private burial will be held.

Sincere sympathy to Ron and family. Barbara worked in the office at Thwaites Bakery with Alf Thwaites as her boss and later Stewart. It was probably her first job. Ron, l have just found out that your daughter Jackie and our daughter, Catherine, live in the same street and our granddaughters are kinder friends.

We have many happy memories of growing up together as the Kerr and Hayes families. Holidays in Queenscliff, cricket on the beach and, of course, Uncle Stan’s ice-creams are memories that will always bring a smile.
Barb always took an interest in what we were doing, and we remember her fondly from those earlier years. We can’t forget, either, that she was a champion lawn bowler.
Our thoughts are with Ron, Andrea and Jackie and their families, and especially with her siblings Graham, Peter and Dianne at this very sad time.
Rest peacefully, Barb. Those happy childhood memories will always remain.

Your loss has left a big hole in our extended family, but we know we were all so lucky to have had you, and were better because of you.
When I think of our time together I realise how generous you were with your time and energy to make sure the cousins had a fun time together. I remember sleepovers at Anglesea, and your voice getting louder when you had to repeat “girls!” late at night when said girls should be sleeping, not talking. Patient, but not cross. Big group walks around Anglesea to go to the beach and golf course. Your home handyman skills, like courageously catching a possum while we squealed with excitement, and then humanely freeing it in the bush.
I loved your cheeky side, like trying to stifle a laugh when the dads were saying or doing something silly and you and mum telling them off, but not really.
I remember after-school drop-ins and extended goodbyes at the front gate, when the kids would take turns sitting on the lions while you and mum would continue, or start new, topics of conversation. We were happy for the extra time to play.
You were a good listener and so poised and considered, taking a genuine interest in what the other person had to say, whether it was a child or grown-up.
I’m sorry we won’t see each other again. You will live on through your beautiful girls and grandkids, who you adored and who adored you.August 02, 2026 5:57 pm

Our beloved sister-in-law and Aunt who will be sadly missed. We remember the first day we met Barbara. All those years ago, when a young Ronnie first introduced us to a beautiful, warm and friendly girl named Barbara. We thought how Ronnie had found himself such a lovely girl.
