I’m sorry to hear of Michael’s passing, he will be missed by many. I never had the privilege of meeting Michael but all that I heard, gave me the impression that Michael was a good man; he was a friend and mentor to my brother (much more than a boss) and someone who left an impact on his life on which I am very appreciative of.
My thoughts and prayers are with Karen and William. -

Dearest Karen & William,
I’m so sorry to hear of Michael’s passing.
Some of my fondest childhood memories are of our wonderful time spent at ‘Wonga’. You welcomed us so warmly into your home and onto the farm. I remember Michael to be so kind & caring, and had a wonderful sense of humour.

It was a complete shock and now with a heavy heart to have heard about Mike’s passing. He had such strength to have gotten through what he had over the years. I will miss the long chats and laughs, the world will not be the same. He will be forever in our hearts.
Love to Karen, Will, Robbie, Laura and family – we are thinking of you all in these difficult times.
Lots of Love Michelle & Robert de Julia ???? -
Sincere condolences Karen and Will I am sure you are both struggling to believe that Michael is gone. We are all so sad that we can’t congregate from all over Australia to give you two comfort and give Elton the ‘Len Evans Style’ send-off he would have wanted. Michael was a friend of 39 years and it is hard to imagine that there will not be another phone call with him ranting about some political action that had particularly annoyed him…to my surprise I know I will miss those calls. We are scattered across Australia but please remember Michael has left you with dozens of friends who will be there for you both if you ever need them.
Love Ann

Dear Karen and Will,
We are so saddened by your loss and the loss of a great man. I thought this quote was appropriate:“While we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil”
Thinking of you both on this tough day. Eddie Taylor (and team at at Hood Sweeney)

“Mate Trust Me”, that’s what you always said to me, and I did and somehow it would all go paper shaped and we bust a gut laughing, your were a big brother, always there when I needed you, we travelled together, we got drunk together and we laughed our heads off. You were a man amongst men, respected, honest and as straight as a arrow, I promise brother to be there for Karen and Will whenever they need me, I love them like my own.
Look down on us and look after us all,
Love you mate

I am deeply saddened to learn of Michael’s sudden passing. In the relatively short time I knew Michael I found him to be an extremely interesting gentleman with a multitude of incredible stories and depth of knowledge on numerous topics/ issues. We had many interesting conversations, especially about one of his passions, the Perendales. My sincere condolences to each of you and your immediate family.

We send our best wishes and condolences to Karen and William. We enjoyed and appreciated working in with Michael when we exported 120 perendale ewes to his piece of paradise back in 2016. We couldn’t of asked for a more honorable easy going person to do business with. His hospitality and kindness to us when we visited leaves an enduring memory.

Deepest sympathy Karen, I hope knowing how much Michael was loved and cared helps ease your pain Trish

Thoughts & best wishes to you both Karen & Will. The world is a lesser place for not having Michael in it. He was an incredibly astute individual whom I admired greatly. Michael was one of the biggest male influences for me personally & professionally. His broad knowledge of business was something I always aspired to, his capacity to converse, educate & his high level of compassion was something I always envied. He was a friend & mentor whom I never got to spend enough time with. Vale Michael Elton. One of the greats.

I knew Michael in 1986-88 and he played a significant part in my life. I was with him during those early horrendous days of the cancer diagnosis( The Jack- as he called it) and weathered a few storms with him. He truly was larger than life-. He brought many tears of joy- and frustration and eventually sadness but he was a person you could never really stay cross with. People were drawn to him like moths to a flame and he relished it. I was shocked and really saddened to hear this news, quite accidentally on line. I am very glad he had an extra 33 years after the diagnosis of ” at best 3 months, at worst 6 weeks” all those years ago.I am so glad he got his farm and knew the love of a wife and family. He was someone you were lucky enough to know a once in a lifetime. Wishing you and your son peace and solace at this nightmarish time.
