Tributes
Leave a tributeVale Uncle Leo.
What a wonderful, eventful & fulfilling life you had. After reading your above tributes, I am reassured of this & also of how loved & supported you were within your community. This fills me with absolute joy ๐
I distinctly remember staying with you & Nana one night (approx 1977) when a John Denver special was on TV.
You were so, so excited, you couldn't keep still ! You'd go from singing along & playing guitar, yelling out to Nana what song he was singing, then walking out to the front verandah & yelling the same to the neighbours across the road !!! (my cousins)Your enthusiasm was tangible - not just for John Denver but life in general
I watched your service today & listened to the many stories about your dedication to the football clubs & how these small communities pulled together to help you out as well, making sure you got to your matches on time etc etc
What an amazing life you had Uncle Leo, you will be missed

When we came to Australia in 1964 we stayed with the Ferry's in Cororooke.
Mrs Ferry and my Grandmother were pen friends and shared parcels during the war.
I have many fond memories of Leo playing with us, teasing us and mimicking my british accent.
Condolences to the family on your loss.July 11, 2024 6:06 pm
Leo, you have been known as a "legend" around the Coragulac circles and the dedication to the Hawks . Many listened to the "(Swark of the Kawks" on 3CS). Not only remembered as running the boundary with gusto but being extremely passionate about players, club and associates.
Also, you and your mother, Mrs. Fairy (Elaine) every Friday cleaned St. Brendan's at Coragulac and decorated the Church with flowers for the Sunday Mass. You have been appreciated and deserve a place within the joy of Resurrection. Be at peace. God love you.
