Funeral Notice

Service: Friday April 5, 2024

Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of Mr. Kerin Peter Glennen will be held at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Gellibrand Street, Colac, on Friday April 5, 2024, commencing at 1.30pm.

The Funeral will leave the Church at the conclusion of Mass for the Colac Lawn Cemetery.

    We had the honour of looking after Kerin over the past 8 years, at Royal Melbourne Hospital. We are so very sad to hear that he passed away unexpectedly and send our condolences to Kerin’s family and friends. Kerin’s warmth, humour, kindness and gentle nature will be missed by all. We will also miss seeing his amazing array of colourful patterned socks!

    Karen and Kerin, thank you for your tireless efforts to support other families living with Young Onset Dementia. Your contributions across a wide range of projects has been vital to improve the process of diagnosis and care. We are particularly grateful for your lived experience, wisdom and expertise on the Better Care Victoria Young Onset Dementia Telehealth Innovation Project (BRIGHT-YOD) and the Neuropsychiatry Consumer and Carer Advisory Group. Thank you for supporting our YOD Spartan efforts and for helping us understand how to improve our skills and care when providing support for people living with dementia. Your advocacy, passion, drive and dedication has been outstanding and an inspiration to our team.

    Karen, the way you looked after Kerin with such love, attentiveness, kindness, compassion and strength was a privilege for us to watch from afar. He could not have asked for a more loving partner, who was by his side at all times, right until the end. Thank you for showing us what great care looks like.
