It was such a shock to hear the news that my dear friend and colleague Sarah had passed. Sarah's passion for improving the lives of children through literacy was just out of this world. I always remember a little girl who was pleased as punch to read to me instead of playing with her friends one time as Sarah had worked so hard with this little girl to improve her skills. Sarah - you literally changed the lives of many little people, and that legacy will last forever xoxoxoxxo

It’s been many weeks since I heard the sad, shocking news of Sarah’s passing. Still finding it very hard to believe that someone with such zest for life and happy laugh could be gone. I remember many fun days at the Birregurra Festival and our visit to Berlin. Love and best wishes to Jenny and James at this hardest of times. Travel peacefully my wonderful friend. x David Crotty

Sarah,
I can't believe you are gone. Thank you for your cheeky sense of fun, your passion for helping children through literacy was inspiring and contagious. I loved teaching with you and learning from you.
Rest well, hopefully you are fireside with a good book and a glass of wine.

Phil and I were on holiday, travelling the Otways and surf coast. We drove into Birregurra and Phil recognised, as only he could, that The Drapery was used as an external location in the Henderson Kids. We wandered in and were greeted by Jenny and the next we new we were having coffee with you, and a friendship was born. Whenever you were in Melbourne we would catch up. Dinner at your place with my Mum on yet another road trip. Now you are gone and my heart is broken. So young and passionate. A joy to be around. I miss you. Phil and mum also. This is cruel.

You could always make me laugh with your wicked grin and sparkling eyes. You gave Joy to so many people and cared deeply for your friends and family. You truely loved to spend time with us and feed us from your garden. I miss the long conversations and feeling like I was the most interesting person in the world as you quized me about what I'd been up to. You were supportive and encouraging and I always felt you were on my side.
You were passionate about education and it showed in your drive to be a better teacher and to inspire your students. Your enthusiasm for your projects and interests was outstanding and you achieved so much I was in awe of it. It is too soon for you to leave us and I will always look for you down at the beach. Love always my dear cousin. Sue BremnerJune 28, 2023 7:46 pm

So saddened and shocked that you were taken from us so soon Sarah. You have definitely left your mark on the world that can never be filled. A deep passionate woman with a beautiful smile and contagious laugh who was dedicated to her profession and family.
You were my cousin and I will always be forever grateful for the special time we had together in January where we had the opportunity to meet up after many years. We took some lovely photos of you that day which I will always treasure and look back on fondly as a special time we had to catch up after so long. I have your special bread recipe on a text from you that I will continue to make in your honour. But I’m sure it won’t turn out as good as yours.
Rest in peace dear Sarah. Love always

Our overseas trip when we were younger is still very dear to me. Your laugh and beautiful smile lit up the room and your passion for what you believed in didn’t go unnoticed. ❤️

We are so saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Sarah and wish to extend our deepest condolences to her dear Mum Jenny. We knew both Sarah and Jenny very well during our 3.5 years when living in Birregurra.
Sarah was such a beautiful, bubbly, friendly and caring person whom cared so much about community and everyone around her and was a fabulously fun and respected Primary School teacher.
We will always treasure the wonderful times spent caring for yours and Jenny’s lawns whilst we had Jim’s Mowing, and know you will be so missed Sarah, by all whom had the privilege of knowing and loving you.
RIP dear friend xoxo🥀♥️🥀♥️xoxo

I was very sad to read of Sarah’s passing. I was fortunate to meet Sarah when we were both teaching at Elliminyt. Sarah was a dedicated teacher and her warmth and engaging personality made her classroom a wonderful learning environment. We also shared a love of travel. In later years it was lovely to meet Sarah and mother in Birregurra. With loving sympathy.
