  1. To Arthur's family,
I met Arthur earlier this year, through my work with the Shire.
One morning we were cleaning a drain across from his house when he came out to check who we worked for, he asked if we were from the gas company because he had been told he might have a gas leak.
I went over and inspected his meter and quickly found the leak, I couldn't fix it but did call the provider and set up a job for them to come in and repair it asap. We told Arthur when they'd arrive and that we'd be back later in the day to make sure they'd taken care of it for him, sure enough they'd fixed by mid morning and all was well.
We called past to say g'day a few times over the following weeks and learned what a rich life this true Gentleman had lead to date. I would like to express my sympathy to the family and let you know that Arthur is firmly in our memories within my crew at the Shire depot.

I only knew Susie, however Arthur and Margaret were very dear friends of mine over many years.
Arthur was a wonderful man, and all the work he did around Scots Presbyterian Church right up until a few years ago was amazing.
Also how well he looked after his home and garden.
