Born Sunday April 22, 1934. Passed away Sunday April 23, 2023.
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Colac Hospital. Aged 89 years.
Much loved husband of May. Loved father of Susan, Pam, Shirley, Max, Stephen, Ian, Raymond and Rob and their families.
Step-father of Allison, Ken, Doug and Gareth (dec) and their families.
Born in Melbourne, son of Bob and Beryl Jackson (both dec), brother of Gwen and Doug, Valerie (dec), Elva and Stewart (dec)
Thank you to the wonderful staff at Mercy Place Colac, Colac Area Heath and MND Victoria for their amazing support.
Funeral notice
Wednesday May 03, 2023
The Funeral of Mr. Maxwell Jackson will be held at Scot’s Presbyterian Church, Armstrong Street, Colac, on Wednesday May 3, 2023 commencing at 2.00 p.m.
The Funeral will leave the Church at the conclusion of the service for the Colac Lawn Cemetery.
For those who are unable to attend, click here to view the live-stream.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MND Victoria. Envelopes will be available at the Church

💜 🥀 💜 It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we learned of this sad news of the loss of one of mine and Ike’s most treasured and highly respected friends, Max Jackson. 🥀🥀💜♥️
Max was such a passionate, caring, kind, dedicated and humorous friend and Volunteer of the Ian Parker Bipolar Research Fund.
Max, you were one of ‘Natures True Gentlemen’ and I will always value your beautiful friendship and generosity in all you contributed to not only myself, but toward the whole team of the IPBRF and will always cherish the many fun days spent in your Aireys St. huge shed offered as our ‘workshop’ when building the HUGE shoe to be mounted on a flat trolley, and the giggles we had as attached all the different dolls in all fun positions (just as all kids would do !), as we created the Nursery Rhyme theme of ‘There was an Old Woman an who Lived in a Shoe’ …. She had SO many children she didn’t know what to do! …
We stole the show at Colac Kana Festival winning First Prize for the most creative theme event, and could not have achieved this honour and recognition for the IPBRF without your many hours of help and support !
We loved your ‘Old King Cole’ character chosen for the ‘Nursery Rhyme’ theme and your determination to not even allow requiring a wheelchair to stop you being part of the excitement !
Thank you dear Max for being such a constant in our busy Colac Kana years.
You will be missed so much by all whom had the honour of calling you their friend.
My sincerest condolences are extended to May and all of Max’s children and step children and especially our dear friend, May’s son Ken Black, whom also has supported Max and the IPBRF with representing on behalf of the Community Bendigo Bank Colac with several of our Colac Kana Festivals, Community BBQ’s and Donation Boxes on their counter.
Much deep appreciation is extended.
