A treasured sister of Ed and Shirley, a much-loved Aunt of Stephen, Michelle and Emma, Paul, and Jason.
A loyal and life-long friend to many; a constant contributor to schools and communities; a woman with a zest for life, while holding strong convictions as to what was fair and just. She was a woman who engaged with life, with people and their stories. Her heart was built for friendship and making links enabling others to feel they belonged.
To our cherished Kirkman Cousins. Words cannot convey the sadness at her sudden loss especially as she had found renewed purpose and meaning and was enjoying life to the full. She was proud of her Morrissy heritage but became in every way a Kirkman when Merv embraced her into his life and she delighted in her most precious gifts – you…
Dear Franny …so suddenly and sadly gone …but never to be forgotten. As the sheltering angel now enfolds you, may all our love surround you as your strength, your vitality, your love for family and friends rests long in our hearts as you move gently off centre-stage … dancing into the sunset with your beloved Merv… -
To the Kirkies of Alexander st… There are so many beautiful memories it’s difficult to pick just one… but I always loved going to Nanas sitting at the kitchen window waiting for one of the Kirkie kids to appear so I could come inside to your house … Auntie Fran was to me always so happy !!! Mum – your table was always full, you cultivated friendships wherever you went and your family meant everything to you. The branches of your family tree continue to grow from the seeds you and Dad have sown. Always know that the love that you two had for each other has tied all of us together forever. What Special Memories you leave us all, always happy, eager to keep up with family news.Always with some craft project on the go. You were so proud of the beautiful family, you & Merv created,also doubly proud of all your grandkids & great grand kids. A loving sister& sister-in-law, always telling the story of feeding me (Terry aged 2) blue ice blocks on back steps at Beeac, being very worried because I turned blue ,thinking I was going to die. At this time of passing of Frances Mary Morrissy, spouse of Mervyn Kirkman brings to my mind wonderful memories of two excellent people who committed their teenage years and adult years to a variety of family events and community involvements.
May I acknowledge their devotion and everlasting memories they each contributed to parental life and the duties associated with the City of Colac.
Our birth dates were both in the same month of December and our earliest years were laden with everlasting memories.

The grin you gave when asked “who has the most great grand kids at the village nana?” summed you up perfectly. Family was your passion.
