  34. Deepest Sympathies to Joan and Family on the loss of one of the biggest music legends ever to grace the many Oldtime Dance Halls and stages in Colac and Western District. Frank was one of the warmest, kindest, caring, and friendliest men you could ever hope to meet. I remember as a teenager hearing his band play Rock Around The Clock from outside the Pirron Yallock Hall in the late 70’s and being absolutely amazed by the sound of those drums in the hands of a master. That is etched into my memory banks forever. If you didn’t love Frank the man, you didn’t love life. His legacy will live on and he
will never be forgotten. He’s gone to join that Big Old Time Orchestra in the sky. My Dad Cyril will be welcoming him with open arms. R.I.P Frankie Lawrence

  52. So sad to hear you’ve left us Frank,. Your methodical and patient way of teaching me how to play drums all those years ago took me into many genres of music, and instilled in me the joy of watching people happily dancing along to the beat. Thanks to you myself and others got to appreciate music and to know someone patient and supportive while learning to play. You’ll always be in our hearts and every beat of the bass drum. I know those whose lives you touched, both personally and musically, will remember wonderful times. May you rest in peace and keep the beat going in heaven.

He played at my late husband (Murray)& my kitchen tea so many years ago and then when we went dancing at Elliminyt & Cobrico dances to always get such a welcome. Then I saw frank lots of times with his Bill & Judy singing along and bringing his dancing friends to Merindah Lodge aged care in Camperdown where I worked at hospital for the last 20 years and was able to go over and dance while working he was wonderful to the residents & then I was able to be there at merindahs last day of music.
