Gerald, you adopted me and my girls like we where your own. You always loved a chat, a laugh and keeping up to date with what everyone was doing.

Dad/pops where do I start, you weren’t just my pops but my dad and best friend , you were my helping hand when I needed you , a listening ear when I needed someone to talk to, always being patient with me Even tho I made it difficult sometimes and always be there no matter what .You and nan nearly 29 years ago did an incredible thing for me and my mum even after nan having and raising 10 wild children of your own , you took me in and gave me a home , love , laughter , support , joy and some tears and lots of memories and raised me as your own to become the amazing loving young woman I am today , I will never stop thanking you both for that because if it wasn’t for you both , god knows where I’d be today and I may not have even got to know this big crazy loving family I’m apart of , I could go on and on al day about memories I’ve shared with you but I’ll tell you about a few when I was little I remember spending lots of time with my cousins and you always telling us to get out of the way of the heater or you would turn it off or yelling at us for making to much noise while you watched tv , I remember spending time at Pete’s pizza back in the day when you would help him out and our spontaneous trips to Geelong to see Jodie and me and nan would go shopping and I remember our trips to the speedway to watch the sprint cars and man did I get covered in dirt , spending time with family, our annual Christmas light display you would be Santa and sometimes I would be your helper, I remember the hours maybe even days it took you to set up the lights to make them good for everyone family and friends and people far and wide . we share the love of country music and our Sundays going to the rsl to the country music day and where I did line dancing that I learnt and continued to do for 10 years from age 5 to 15 that’s where I meet some amazing people, Chris learnt how to drive as well as if he wanted to drive he would have to drive me and nan to line dancing lessons and even learnt to dance as well not that he would admit that lol , i remember sometimes Chris and Aaron getting annoyed with me because I was younger than them but over the years they become more like my brothers then my uncles and i remember our summers when I was growing up at the lake with Gerry Rick Kara and peewee on their boat and swimming and our trips with Sharon to god knows where for the day exploring our surroundings and I still remember the day I was going on the train with a friend and you and nan kept saying I wasn’t allowed to go but I convinced you to let me go after hours of nagging and Thats the day meet Troy and couple of weeks later we got together so thank you and thank you for welcoming Troy into our big family with open arms even if at the start you didn’t think we would last 2 minutes as we lived in 2 different towns but boy did we prove you wrong ,still going strong after 13 years having 2 kids and moving in together , you even got to walk me down the aisle and we had a cry together as we walked down , we got to dance and laugh and talk about the good times that day but our most precious memory of you is the day you meet Jamison and Jaxxon you had that goofy smile that went from ear to ear and they absolutely loved and adored you from day one even with your loud grumpy voice and you and nan coming to see us in Cobden for a trip to get away from Colac and sometimes you coming on your own after nan passed and not telling people you were coming just to get away and everyone calling you to see where you were .. I can’t thank you enough for all your love and support over the past couple of months as if it wasn’t for you not sure where we would be !! We love and miss you like crazy ,We promise you and nan that we will do our best every day to make you proud … be with mum/nan now make sure you give her a big hug from us all I’m sure she was at the Pearly gates waiting for you saying finally you made it ready to wack you with the pillow or walking stick showing you her love …rest easy now old boy love and we all will miss you like crazy jess Troy Jamison jaxxon and your best friend Sandra xo ???? ????

So sad to hear of Geralds passing.
He was such an amazing support to the Community through his involvement with the Community Hub redevelopment and a personal support to me during that time. Shared birthday cakes and lots of laughs are the memories I will treasure. Both you and Dianne will remain treasured people in my life and i will always be grateful for the love and support you showed me and my children.
