As long as we have those memories you will never be gone from our hearts, but at the moment those memories just add to the unbearable grief we are feeling.

Funeral Notice
Service: Monday April 29, 2024The Funeral of Mr. Jesse Peter Lucas will be held at St Mary’s Church, Gellibrand Street, Colac, on Monday, April 29, 2024 commencing at 1.30 p.m.
The Funeral will leave the Church at the conclusion of the service for the Colac Lawn Cemetery.

We will miss his vibrant personality, his boundless energy, and his true value to our club.As we mourn the loss of a true friend and a piece of the fabric at the Colac Cricket Club, we also celebrate the rich, joyful life he led and the countless lives he touched.

Jesse, can’t believe that this is true, that i won’t see you at the Cricket club when i come home again. One of the funniest blokes i have met always up for a practical joke and a laugh and would always lend a hand whenever one was needed.

Dear Peter, Linda, Brady & Sam Lucas,
I first met Jesse “Shooter” Lucas back in 2013, when, even as a young teen, his sharp wit, fun-loving ways & zest for life immediately became evident, as he & his group of young friends were always prominent at Colac Imperials Football Netball Club matches.
Over the years, I watched him grow into a wonderful young man, who never lost that fun-loving way & zest for life.
He was certainly a great character &, over the past few days, I’ve been having a chuckle to myself at some of the things he said & did.
It’s unthinkable right now to imagine going out to the Colac Imperials F.N.C. & him not being there.
Jesse joined us a few times on “CDFNL Live” & he always raised our spirits with his jokes & wit. Whenever I spent time with him, he’d always have me laughing & smiling.
I’m stunned & shattered that I won’t see Jesse again & I cannot imagine what his family is going through right now. All I’d say is that he packed a lot into 24 years & he has left an indelible impression on so many.
I send my deepest condolences to Peter, Linda, Brady & Sam Lucas, along with Jesse’s extended network of family & friends & everyone associated with the Colac Imperials Football Netball Club & Colac Cricket Club.
Jesse was a little ripper. He bled navy blue & white for the Imperials & Geelong F.C. in the AFL & I’m sure every time those clubs take to the field, he’ll be looking down keenly, hoping they can salute.
I’ll miss you, “Shooter”. Rest In Peace, buddy.
