To Christine and family Our deepest sympathy to you all on the passing of Chris. We enjoyed catching up with Chris at the Birregurra District Historical Centre. He was a very keen historian and enjoyed sharing stories of the Maguire and Farquharson families from Barwon Downs and Murroon district

Dear Christine and family. How much we looked forward to seeing the two Chris’s at all the gatherings. It was one of the main reasons that we made the long haul from Coffs Harbour in northern NSW to the Victorian gatherings.
Yours is a loss that the Scottish community will find hard to overcome.
Chris’s love for his coos was always evident by all the coo products he took home from our shop. His stories and yarns will live on in the minds of everyone here at Celtic Thunder.
We wish we could be there. We will all have a wee dram in his honour on Tuesday.
Love and hugs from all the Celtic Thunder Clan: Ray, Lyn, Rachael, Kayleigh, Jay & Allana. -
“Basically, the situation is this” – familiar words from a man of deep intellect, sharp wit and reliability for anyone needing help. Chris your loving family and friends will all miss you terribly. As time moves onwards so many will realise just how much you gave of yourself to others.
You have left so many quirky and happy memories. Thank you. Karen and Roly Richardson -
So much of my childhood is linked with Chris, Christine and the family. Spending weekends and school holidays at their place at Carpendeit learning about farm life, gardening and the circle of life. For those memories I thank you, and I will remember them always.
My heartfelt sympathy to Christine, Adam, Rhiannon, Sarah and families at this saddest of times. -
Chirstine My hearfelt condonces to you and your family Chrises death has come as a shock yo me.
I only met Chris & yourself anout 6 years ago whilst working as a volunteer with Peter Daffy at a Burns festival.
I found that Chris was a man of generous spirt and very community minded he could be very obstinate at time how ever in saying this generosity to the community his family and friends knew no bounds
I for one will remember Chris fondley and won’t forget his friendship he was a good man gone to soon

Chris Maguire made a huge contribution to Camperdown and his passing will leave a big hole in our community.

Chris was a friend, a larger than life character, passionate about his Scottish heritage, a very active organiser of the Robert Burns Scottish Festival, Camperdown, Victoria, and the Robert Burns Society, active in the Camperdown and district community, Clan Farquharson, and owner of Highland Coos. We enjoyed his company, stories and contribution to the Scottish community. He is sorely missed. A wee dram will be had in his honour.
Christine and family, on behalf of the Scottish Australian Heritage Council please accept our sincere condolences.

To Christine, Adam, Rhiannon, Sarah and families, so sorry to hear of the passing of Chris, and could I extend my sincere condolences to you all at this sad time.
Having just viewed the service remembering him, it seems to me that whatever role he took on he did so with great endeavour giving it his all. A very moving service indeed, covering a life well lived.
My regards and best wishes to you all, Peter Hinchcliffe.
