Leave a tributeMy deepest sympathy to Ian, Kelvin & Dale and families.
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Gaynor.
We had lots of laughs (and lunches) when we met back at the Ballarat, College of Advanced Education. I remember how happy she was when she got engaged, married and then went on to start a family.
Although we have not seen each other for awhile I did enjoy our catchups and she was always interested in what was happening in our family.
Thinking of you all at this sad time and I am sorry I was not able to be there to help celebrate Gaynor's life with you.

Oh Gaynor, you were one of life's most absolute treasures. With the most gentle nature, the kindest of hearts and the most caring of ways. Always so happy and cheerful, even after being dealt one of life's most cruelest cards. Your courage and determination to carry on with life was inspiring. It was always a highlight of my day if I ran into you at the Post Office.
Deepest sympathy to Ian, Kelvin, Dale and their families. Mt Bute has certainly lost one of its finest gems.
Sleep peacefully Gaynor. You will be fondly remembered by all of us.
Love Danny, Renea, Ella, Archie and Maggie McDonald xx

Gaynor, we met at a party in 1986 and decided to become housemates that very night. You said you were a bit over living on your own and I had a new job at the CFA. You found us a house in Ascot Street South and the adventures began. Most of these adventures weren’t your idea, like borrowing a goat to eat the backyard grass or me getting a cat when cats gave you asthma; or calling in to Jimmy Barnes at the Civic Hall in our badminton uniforms. Oh and that famous New Year’s Eve in convoy in our trusty Toyota Corollas to Rainbow, arriving just before midnight to a thunderstorm and heavy rain. You put up with a lot.
We lived together for 3 1/2 years, moving onto Pleasant Street South and then to Darling Street. I moved to Red Cliffs and then you shared with Suzanne. I remember you were always busy and a night owl. There would be a hive of activity after you returned from work at the University, you would head off to indoor tennis or other activity, you knitted, were beautifully house proud and a wonderful cook. We’d head out to B & S Balls, just getting ready was a huge event.
You would say “I’ll probably marry a farmer” and you were absolutely suited to farm life. The Mt Bute/Lismore community were blessed when Ian brought home his bride. In recent years I enjoyed those catch ups at Lake Street with Relly, Sue, Sally and you where raucous laughter was always the guest of honour well into the night. Memories to cherish and we will always keep a seat at the table for you.
In these past months I think you truly realised how treasured and loved you were and that is a comfort for all.
Our condolences to Ian, Kelvin and Marianne, Dale, to your sisters Bronwyn and Jenny and families; and to the Marquand extended family. You will live on through your sons and beautiful granddaughters and through the very special memories to be cherished.
We’ll miss you Gaynor. Love Christine and Ron LeamonApril 02, 2025 10:11 am

Goodbye, my dear Gaynor. You have been the most wonderful, loyal, kind and caring friend for almost 40 years.
We went through so much over the years from meeting at a B&S ball, travelling through UK and Europe on the trip of a lifetime to meeting our husband's, having our children, losing our parents and all of life ups and downs that came our way.
I can still hear your voice, our many phone calls which covered so many topics!
Remembering our get-togethers which always involved food and who was going to bring what, your love of the garden and plant knowledge was amazing. and mostly of your love for your family and friends.
I have been so lucky to have you as my dear beautiful friend, who fought so bravely , l miss you already.
Rest peacefully, united with your dear Mum and Dad.
Sincere sympathies to Ian, Kelvin and Dale she was the best ❤️

Selfless, Loyal, Generous, thoughtful and loving are the words that I would use to describe you my dear Gaynor. Qualities that you used abundantly on every one of us.
We have ridden the highs and lows of life together as friends. From single days, to meeting our husbands, having our children, sharing the joys and sorrows of everyday life. Losing our parents and people we have loved, supporting each other when we didn't have the answers.
Getting together, the laughter, the swapping of food and recipes, the talking, which was endless, stories about our families and the arguments of who was paying. You were always interested in everyone and everything.
It all ended before any of us were ready.
It's extremely difficult to imagine a world without you in it. I miss you so much already.
I know there will never be another you.
Sleep peacefully after your gallant fight, you didn't deserve any of it. I hope you are safe in your parents loving embrace.
I love you Gaynor.

To my beautiful, thoughtful Gaynor, we first met each other on our camping Contiki European Tour in 1987 and have remained friends ever since. We kept in contact by phone and managed to see each other a half a dozen times because of distance. I'll remember the best bits of our friendship, your unique laughter and sense of humour, your deep kindness and thoughtfulness. The stories of your lovely family, travel holidays, recipes, gardening tips and the conversations in between.
I'll miss you greatly, Gaynor.Gianna Fallavollita

Goodbye my dear friend. It broke my heart to see you go through this struggle, you fought a mighty battle and didn't deserve any of this. I'm so grateful for our friendship over the past 30+ years, starting off as flatmates in Darling Street, Ballarat. We kept that friendship going despite the distance between us, every catch up seemed like yesterday. I'll miss that laugh, your quirky ways and big, kind heart. A beautiful soul, rest easy now Gaynor. You're at Journeys End xxxx
My love to you Ian, Kelvin and Dale...she was one of a kind ❤️Suzanne, NZ
