Loved Father of Maggie, Milly and Charlee. Cherished son of Monica and Allan (dec). Brother of Helen, Carmel, Paul and Shane. Brother-in-law of Geoff, Paul, Jane and Nora. Adored Uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Funeral Notice
Service: Thursday February 15, 2024The Funeral of Mr. David John Matthews will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Gellibrand Street, Colac on Thursday, February 15, 2024 with Prayers commencing at 11am.
The Funeral will leave the Church at the conclusion of the service for the Colac Lawn Cemetery.

Race, I can’t believe your gone. You made me laugh. You were such a character. I got to know you and your daughter Charlee and my dearest friend Melissa. Over the years I grew to care about you. Now I have to learn to not see you anymore.

Uncle David,
Growing up you were one of the uncles who were more like older brothers to me. Mountains of memories from the farm to the beach and the countless hours spent with you in the truck will be everlasting.
Your personality and sense of humour was contagious and loved by all around you. Whatever the event or whenever the time, you had a sense of occasion and could lighten the room in your own special way.
Gone too soon, but never forgotten.

We will never forget the special times we shared with Race when he worked with us on our farm. He was always diligent, methodical, loyal and he was especially up for practical jokes and a good story! Our heartfelt sympathy to his daughters, Maggie, Milly and Charlee. He was so proud of you and your achievements.
