McADAM, Selwyn

Print
Born on October 25, 1927. Passed away on October 11, 2021.

Much loved father of David, Wendy and Leigh. Husband of Irene (dec). Brother to Claire. Father in Law to Cathy, Richard and Rachel. Grandfather to Erin, Thomas, Elizabeth, Annabelle, George, Isaac and Samuel. Recent Great Grandfather to Madeline. Friend to Ronald, Rodney, Vicki and their partners and family. His presence brightened the room. His hard work and generosity provided the base and inspiration for us to look up to. Many years of community service, including to the Colac Lawn Tennis Club and Colac Bowling Club.

A tennis serve that had to be seen to be believed. Probably the worst left handed swing even seen at the Colac Golf Club. His lawn bowling prowess was exceeded only by his clubmanship and the ability to demolish cream cakes.

We are grateful to have spent time with you.

  12. Selwyn was a one of a kind. When I started lawn bowls he always kept an eye out for me. He use to say the best thing about bowls is the people you meet and the fun you have, the other part about winning is just a bonus. He had a way of making everyone feel special both old and young. My Dad (Tony Mckay) loved Selwyn and speaks so highly of him. His smile and laugh were infectious and will be very sadly missed around the Colac Bowls Club.
