Loving husband of Julieanne McKenzie (dec). Treasured dad and father-in-law of Karina and David, Sharna and Aaron. Loved Poppy of Hugh, Airlie, Lenny and Leo.
Reunited with mum.
Funeral notice
Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of Mr. Richard "Dick" McKenzie will be offered at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Gellibrand Street, Colac on Friday, March 6, 2026 commencing at 11am.
In accordance with Dick's wishes, a private cremation will be held.
As per family wishes, please wear something bright and colourful to celebrate his life.

Leave a tributeWe were very lucky to meet the McKenzie family in 2005 when we first started to holiday at Fig Tree Caravan Park in Warrnambool. In all those years we got to know Dick very well. We would describe him simply as a lovely bloke, he always had a big smile and gave you a warm greeting. He also looked after everyone making sure you weren’t in a draft, or the Sun or too cold etc.
Dick had a great sense of humour and would enjoy us telling this story. Dick and George would say that Dick did all the work around the caravan and that Julieanne and the girls did very little. Julieanne would just roll her eyes and laugh. Kylie made Dick a badge that he would wear each year on his birthday that said “DICK’S DAY OFF”.
Another memory the girls will enjoy is Dick having a can of beer of an afternoon. The special part was that Dick always poured the beer into his little metal cup.
It was such a pleasure to develop a close friendship with Dick, Julieanne and the family. We will miss you Dick.

Dear Karina, Sharna and families,
Dick was one of a kind and we loved sharing our Warrnambool holiday with the McKenzie family, so many wonderful memories over the years. Dick was always ready for a chat and a joke, he loved telling us about the horse racing and his trips to the TAB.

Dad, I will miss you so much. You were the best Dad we could ever ask for. I loved sharing our passion for horse racing. Going to the races with you, so many times over the years. I learnt so much from you. Often asking you for your tips. We are so grateful for how often you told us that you loved us. Watching your eyes light up when we would come home for a weekend, was so precious. You loved spending time with your little grandkids, always having so much fun with them. Mum has gone to heaven before you so she could show you the way. Fly high and enjoy your eternal life reuinited with Mum. Until we meet again Love you always Karina. xxx.
