Passed away suddenly on February 18, 2019 aged 87 years.

Dearly loved husband of Bett. Treasured Dad of Pauline and Glenn O’Donohue, Garry and Judy, Donna and Geoff Howard, Ray and Cathie, Bernie and Robyn and Shane (dec). Devoted Pa of 16 adoring grandchildren and Pa Mac of his 4 special great grandchildren.

Funeral Notice

Service: Monday February 25, 2019

Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of Mr. Ambrose Francis McNamara will be offered at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Gellibrand Street, Colac on Monday, February 25, 2019, commencing at 11:00 a.m.

The Funeral will leave the Church at the conclusion of Mass for the Colac Lawn Cemetery.

  1. Treasured memories of a gentleman who was always thoughtful and kind to so many people around him. Thank you Ambrose for your wonderful visits to dad, he enjoyed them so very much and in the latter years to mum at the nursing home. Thank you also for the fruit and vegetables you grew and generously gave away. You were like Father Christmas every day of the year. You will be sadly missed. Sympathy to Bett and the family.

An amazing gentleman who was much loved by his family ,and the district , Generous and kind to all he met .Our wonderful conversations during your haircuts on worldly issues , fishing hunting and distribution of fresh grown vegetables , newspapers for us was a wonderful trade mark that will never be forgotten , Collingwood PIES have lost another of it`s loyal followers ,Betty and the CATS will be relieved l
    May you rest your weary body now , gone but not forgotten Ambrose our dear friend .You will have great stories for Ron Holt once again .

  8. To dear Bett and family. Just learned of Ambies passing so wasn’t able to attend his funeral.
    He drove me to footy training and was my coach when I was a 13 year old, all those years ago. Got lovely memories of a terrific guy.
