Great-Grandfather of Lenny, Freya, Sid, Imogen, Malachy, Tadhg, Fergus, Sylvie, Harris, Pearl, Alby, Mabel, Georgie, Zoe.

Funeral notice
Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of Mr. Denis Edmund Morrissy will be offered at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Gellibrand Street, Colac on Monday, August 10, 2026 commencing at 1pm.
The Funeral will leave the Church at the conclusion of Mass for the Colac Cemetery.

Dinny was a highly respected member of the Colac West Cricket Club, great team mate and exceptional wicketkeeper.I loved batting with Dinny and we had a great understanding and had many great partnerships together. He was a very determined player and I cherished his friendship. Dinny you had a great and memorable innings.

This is one last chance for those who loved Din to celebrate his unique contribution to making the world a little better because he was in it.
Ninety-three years is not just a long life — it is a long witness.
He was, above all, a gentleman, in the old and true sense: a man who moved through the world with quiet respect for people's privacy and dignity. He knew how to keep his own counsel, and just as importantly, that of others — the rarer gift, in an age where everything is said too loudly and too soon. That, too, is a love that goes the long haul.
He was no pushover, though. On the field, on pitch, on the bowling green, in the boxing ring. Wherever the contest was joined, he was an ardent competitor — a passion that never dimmed, only found new arenas.
But it was in friendship that he left his deepest mark. The friendships he valued most were forged in hard days — the kind that strip away pretence and show exactly who someone is. He carried those through decades of adventures, smooth roads and rough and built something rarer than memories: a sense of belonging.
That is his legacy — not just the years he lived, but the room he made for others within them. That room does not close. It stays open in everyone who carries a piece of him forward.
On behalf of Ed and Shirl — his presence, his merry way, will be missed.
