OATES, Lorraine Joan (née Cowley)

Born Thursday October 26, 1939. Passed away Monday June 15, 2026.

Passed away peacefully at Sunnyside House, Camperdown.

Loving wife of Barry (dec). Adored mother of Diane Bailey, Leanne (dec), Wendy and Shaun Schroter. Treasured Nana of Sean, Laura and Lachie; Heide, Freya and Indy. Special Great Nana of Harvey.

God saw you getting tired,
And a cure was not to be
So he put His arms around you
And whispered, ‘Come to me’.

With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

  3. Wonderful memories of an inspirational lady who left many fingerprints on me and my outlook on the World. I was blessed to have her as a Girl Guide Leader and lucky in later years to still have her presence in my life. I am certainly a better person for having known her.
Sincere sympathy to Diane, Wendy and families.
